Johanna Parker, DVM
Dr. Parker grew up in Littleton, North Carolina. She attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington where she received a B.S. in Biology and Minored in Chemistry. After graduation, she attended veterinary school at North Carolina State University, College of Veterinary Medicine where she focused specifically on Mixed Animal Medicine/Equine Medicine, however late in her veterinary school career felt that small animal medicine would suit her better. She started her career in Frankfort, Indiana as a small animal veterinarian before moving back to southeastern North Carolina to pursue mixed animal practice with a higher focus on small animal medicine and surgery. She now resides in Pender County with her husband, two boys, two cats, and numerous dogs. Dr. Parker has been with Bladen Animal Hospital since 2015 and is also the shelter veterinarian for Pender County Animal Shelter. She serves on the Pender County Animal Shelter Advisory Board as well as the Dangerous Dog Committee for Pender County. She has been active in several United Kennel Club local clubs that promote and hold UKC Shows and Nite Hunt competitions in Pender & Sampson County. In her free time, Dr. Parker is passionate about showing and competition hunting her hounds with her husband, hunting, and gardening.
